LOS ANGELES, CA — In a blistering condemnation that has sent shockwaves through the Golden State, Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco has dropped a bombshell on Governor Gavin Newsom and Vice President Kamala Harris, accusing them of actively "encouraging" the violent riots tearing apart Downtown Los Angeles.
The unrest erupted following a massive Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operation that resulted in the arrest of hundreds of illegal aliens, many with serious criminal histories. While the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) praised its agents for removing "the worst of the worst" from the streets, Sheriff Bianco says California's top Democrats are fueling the chaos.
Sheriff Bianco, a Republican candidate for governor, did not mince words. He blasted the agitators as political extremists and laid the blame squarely at the feet of the state's leadership.
"They are trying to violently influence something by political action. That is what this is. That is everything that the Constitution stands against," Bianco declared. "That is what will facilitate the downfall of our civilized society."
Bianco then turned his fire directly on Governor Newsom. "Governor Newsom needs to put his phone down, go sit in his house behind the comfort of his TV screen and a couch, and be quiet because he is doing nothing but fueling this process," the sheriff raged.
"He needs to stay out of the way of law enforcement. He knows nothing about this... He despises the enforcement of law, and he has encouraged this," Bianco added, suggesting that the blood on the streets is a direct result of Democrat rhetoric.

As the sheriff called out the politicians, the Trump administration scored a major legal victory. On Thursday, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals temporarily lifted restrictions placed on President Trump’s deployment of National Guard troops in Los Angeles, pausing a lower court ruling that claimed the operation violated the Posse Comitatus Act.
In a short but decisive order, the appeals court granted the administration’s request for an "administrative stay," blocking Judge Charles Breyer’s attempt to handcuff the military. Breyer had previously ruled that the Guard could not make arrests or conduct crowd control, a restriction the White House argued "jeopardized public safety."
DHS pushed back hard against the narrative that the raids were unjust. The agency released information on more than a dozen illegal immigrants apprehended in L.A., confirming they were suspects in serious crimes.
"America’s brave ICE officers are removing the worst of the worst from LA’s streets, while LA’s leaders are working tirelessly against them," DHS stated. The federal government insists that the "surge" is necessary to restore order, while Newsom and Attorney General Rob Bonta continue to challenge the legality of federalizing the Guard.
For Sheriff Bianco, the choice is clear: uphold the rule of law or surrender to the mob. And if Newsom continues to "encourage" the latter, Bianco suggests the consequences should be severe.
